David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
